Delicious stollen just like from the master baker.

Making your own Stollen is very easy, especially thanks to our Stollen spice. Depending on your preference, you can add marzipan, raisins or poppy seeds to your yeast dough for a tasty stollen. It is very filling and a classic for every coffee party and not just popular with “old ladies”.
There are many different fillings for Stollen, because in addition to “normal” Stollen with raisins, there are also quark Stollen, poppy seed Stollen, butter Stollen, marzipan Stollen, almond Stollen, nut Stollen and many other variations.
Our Stollen spice is suitable as a base for all types of Stollen.

Stollen is particularly popular in south-eastern Germany, from Bavaria to Thuringia to Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, and was first mentioned in a document in 1329 in a guild privilege of the town of Naumburg. In 1615, there was even the so-called “Stollen War”, when the bakers of the town of Meissen defended themselves against competition from Siebenleh. At the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648, Dresden bakers were granted a monopoly on stollen, which meant that bakers from other towns were also denied access to the market in Dresden. They were also granted the right to supply the electoral and later the royal court. Today, “Dresdner Christstollen” is a protected designation that only bakers from the Dresden area are allowed to use for their stollen..

Stollen tastes good at any time of year, but especially during Advent, and is popular with young and old alike. Because Christmas without the smell of delicious Christmas stollen is like Easter without the Easter bunny. And thanks to our stollen spice, you can easily achieve this great aroma and taste.

The classic Christmas stollen has at least 30% butter and contains candied lemon peel, candied orange peel and raisins and is sprinkled thickly with powdered sugar after baking, because the shape and color of the stollen should be reminiscent of the wrapped Christ Child. You don't need to worry about the various spices, as our Stollen spice is available with finely coordinated spices.

Our tip: Try a Bavarian poppy seed stollen, also known as “Striezl”, with our stollen spice and our blue poppy seeds.

Hand-filled in our elegant aroma bag with viewing window and practical clip closure.
