Golden milk is a drink that originally comes from Ayurvedic medicine. The main ingredient of golden milk is curcuma, which is responsible for the color and the name, as it gives the milk a golden sheen.
Golden milk plays a very important role in Indian medicine.

Turmeric, also known as yellow ginger or turmeric, belongs to the ginger family and originally comes from South Asia. It reaches heights of up to one meter and produces magically beautiful flowers. However, only the root, also known as the rhizome, is used. Turmeric has been known and revered as sacred in India for at least 5,000 years and is used as a medicinal plant due to its essential oils. The ground powder was used for poultices, and in curry it is said to help with digestive problems. It was not until the Middle Ages that the plant found its way to Europe. In India, 80% of the annual production is consumed.

Golden Milk is quick and easy to make: Add a teaspoon of Golden Milk to approx. 250ml of hot milk or hot water and stir well. Add a little sugar, honey or rock candy to taste.
