Fruits preserved in syrup have a long tradition to enjoy them as fresh even months after harvest. Especially for baked goods, cakes or desserts these are used with pleasure.
As in grandmother's time, we use only natural ingredients and completely avoid chemical additives, preservatives and flavors.
For our syrup we use instead of conventional white sugar exclusively brown cane sugar, so the pickled fruits get not only visually a much darker and more appealing color, but also an incomparable taste with a light caramel note.
Perfectly rounded off our syrup with lime juice to get a balance between sweet and sour, so that the taste of the fruit is in the foreground.
Whether savory dishes or desserts, with blueberries preserved in syrup you enhance it.
Garnish a toast Hawaii with blueberries or use them instead of cranberries for game dishes. Conjure up a leaf salad with feta, walnuts and blueberries, an asparagus blueberry salad, crustinis with camenbert and blueberries or a tarte flambée with zucchini and blueberries.
But you can get especially creative with pastries and cakes: Bake a stollen or a blueberry tart, a cream cheese tart with blueberries, garnish cheesecakes or fruit tarts with them.
Or refine ice cream, pancakes, crepes or waffles. Even stirred into a natural yogurt, the fruits with the syrup are simply delicious.
